Tucked deep inside the Tam Coc countryside, Thai Vi Temple honors the heroic Kings of the 13th-century Tran Dynasty and is famed for its exquisite monolithic green-stone carvings.
Built in the 13th century where King Tran Thai Tong retreated to practice Buddhism after defeating the Mongol invasions, Thai Vi Temple sits in a tranquil valley surrounded by limestone mountains and rice paddies.
Every pillar, altar and dragon relief inside the main sanctuary is carved from single blocks of local Ninh Binh green stone by master artisans of Van Lam village.
Because large tour buses cannot easily navigate the narrow village lanes leading here, arriving by open-air vintage Jeep on our Flagship Tour lets you experience Thai Vi Temple in complete peace.
